It has been a great first month of school. The students are now settled into a routine, clubs have started and the fall sports teams are making Longhorn history on the fields and the courts. 

The first PTSA meeting of the year was held on August 31 as a part of curriculum night.   The budget was approved and the plan for the year discussed.    

If you missed the meeting, it is not too late to join PTSA. Help us,  help the school by joining PTSA.  Our membership goal is simple:  1 member for every student  and 100% staff membership to duplicate the efforts started at Lanier Middle School last year.  $7.25 of the membership fee stays at the school for us to help fund items not in the school budget. 

We are also working on cluster events with the elementary and middle schools.  We hosted the  cluster breakfast on Friday and it was a success.  The five PTAs and our partners: Publix, Community Coffee, Postal Plus and Chick-fil-A and Sweet Tomatoes fed and entertained 500+ teachers from every school in the cluster.

Our next cluster event is a cluster Reflections Exhibit in conjunction with the high school dedication in October.   We want to emphasize community spirit in everything we do to build strong ties between the schools and families in the Lanier district.  For it is a strong community that helps build great schools.
